My name is David Gordon; I am a 32 year old nontraditional student attending Missouri Western State University. Currently I am a journalism student. I really enjoy writing and informing my readers on things going on in the world. One of my fears of wanting to become a journalist is the fact that newspapers are slowly dying in this day and age. I believe that I am going to change my major to convergent media, with a minor in journalism. Changing my major to a broader subject will enable me to learn the skills needed to land a job in this industry.
This semester in my JOU 302 class I have learned quite a few things about making slide shows and creating a blog. These skills put me ahead of the traditional journalism students. I really enjoyed the chance to create this blog, and once I actually got started I found that I was trying to make it perfect. After this class I believe that I will start another blog just about my daily rants and comments about what’s going on in the world.
I am currently engaged to a lovely woman and I can’t wait to start our life together. She has two children and I am looking forward to raising them like they are my own. Both of us are college students and our futures are finally falling into place. Once school is over I am looking forward to getting a job in which I can write about things that mean a lot to me and then spending as much time with my family as possible.
